Dennis Martire: Advocating for Laborers’ Rights Beyond the Workplace

Dennis Martire’s role as vice president and mid-Atlantic regional manager for LiUNA, a position he has held since 2002, extends far beyond traditional office hours. Since joining the Laborers’ International Union of North America in 1990, Martire has worked relentlessly to secure fair compensation, safe work environments, and equitable treatment for thousands of laborers. His leadership has led to significant achievements, including Maryland’s fair wage legislation and the establishment of Local 11 in Virginia. A 1986 West Virginia Wesleyan College graduate with a degree in government, Martire also serves on numerous boards, such as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Organizing Coalition, amplifying his impact on labor advocacy and policy.
